Due to many cliffs surrounding Hastings we have a pebbly beach, which has its advantages and one of them is finding gems like this one. The unique shape comes from the flowing sea water washing over it. I came back with the intention of taking a few photos, but after a coffee felt like painting. If you have the sound on you can hear in the background people talking. I normally don’t take much notice of background noise, but it really touched me today. The snow has gently fallen with a light covering, I was wishing for a lot more, maybe later. A big clear out has left some space in the studio, so I am able to put up the easel without tripping over any obstacles, feels good. The picture of flower leaves was inspired by a beautiful tiny flower I saw last summer on a walk in Hastings country park. It’s made up of many ink dots and is 29.7 x 42 cm in size.
