A new mask to celebrate the New Year and to leave

A new mask to celebrate the New Year and to leave behind a year which has been unexpected and unwanted, but has brought people and a world together in happiness and in grief. Like many I’ve had to make a lot of difficult decisions which has not been easy, but I look forward to starting a new joint project next month called ‘12 paintings in 12 months’ a self explanatory title with a lot more besides. The project is going to be documented and filmed by Charles from @southcoastsquared my biggest venture to date and one I can’t wait to start!

A couple of weeks ago I bought myself a vintage set of children’s pencils from @thedirtyoldgallery a Christmas present from myself to me and I’m really happy that I did. Apart from being a little vintage smelly, these pencils are beautiful to work with, so soft and glide onto the page, ideal for all the scribbling @blackwing pencil was also used for the portraits a great pencil combination. A little fact, one reason they circle like this, is so that they can adjust their sensors for balance and direction for their inbuilt barometer, if they don’t, they won’t be able to detect new changes in the air pressure #circlingseagulls #naturebrilliance #naturespatterns
