Signs of Spring

February and Spring has started to show itself. Daffodils, snowdrops, blossom all the familiar colours, shapes and smells. This year it seems more exciting, a new beginning a new outlook as covid restrictions are beginning to lift. I feel I can start to take a deeper breath this time, rather than holding it in for fear of disappointment.

Clearing out seems to be most of what I’ve been doing this month, as I’ll be moving home at some point this year. I will remain in Hastings as it’s such a beautiful town and after 16 years it is all so familiar.

On the art front I have started to paint a lot more and will continue with this to see how far I can push it. The new work feels like it is taking me on quite a different journey and I’m really excited to see where I’ll go with it. The online shop will be updated next month with new artwork and there are new local mark making workshops in the pipeline. To be kept informed, please subscribe to the newsletter below.

Sending much support and love to Ukraine.

Until next month keep well

January 2022

Hello and Happy New Year!

I hope you have managed to have a good break and enjoy the company of loved ones. I have spent my time between Iden in East Sussex and Oxford. A good time out from the normalities of life.

January is always an odd month, nothing really gets going which includes myself. No work plans made for the coming months, just keeping myself occupied between lists of what I would like to do and lots of sketches.  This usually takes place in the morning  when I have a long drawn out breakfast, making a feast and eating it by candlelight. A ritual I love and sets me in a good mood for the rest of the day.

I’ll keep this post short, but for snippets of what I’ve been up to throughout the week you can always follow me on Instagram below.

Any questions about my work or workshops please email me at info@obiko.co.uk

Until next month keep well.
